Creedence Clearwater Revival was an American rock band formed in 1967.

Creedence Clearwater Revival was formed in 1967 by John Fogerty, Tom Fogerty, Stu Cook, and Doug Clifford after previous projects under the names "the blue Velvets" and "The Golliwogs". The band took their name from a friend of the band's drummer, whose name was Credence Nuball. Creedence Clearwater Revival had some early success with singles such as "Susie Q" and "I Put A Spell On You". However it wasn't until the release of their third album that they hit mainstream success with "Bad Moon Rising" off the album "Green River". The band's next album "Willy And The Poor Boys" saw commercial success for Creedence Clearwater Revival with hits like "Fortunate Son", "Down on The Corner".

They were so influential and popular among the 60s and 70s crowd that they just influenced too many other artists as well as future artists, thus earning their name as one of the most influential bands of all time.  CCR also played a headline set at '69 Woodstock arguably one of the most famous music events in rock music.

Creedence Clearwater Revival (CCR) was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993.  The hall of fame describes CCR as "one of the most exciting and influential bands to emerge in the 1960s" (Rock Hall). They were inducted into the hall of fame because they "cranked out hit after hit, proving themselves to be a timeless talent with enduring popularity." (Rock Hall)

John Cameron Fogerty (born May 28, 1945) was the lead singer and songwriter of the rock band Creedence Clearwater Revival (CCR) in addition to filling the roll of lead guitarist.

Tom Fogerty

Tom Fogerty was the rhythm guitarist for Creedence Clearwater Revival. He was also the backing singer for the band.

Stu Cook

Stu Cook was the bass guitarist for CCR and continued the legacy of the band through 'Creedence Clearwater Revisited' to play liver versions of CCR classics.

Doug Clifford

Doug Clifford was the drummer for CCR and continued his music career after the breakup of CCR by playing drums for 'Creedence Clearwater Revisited'.
